About Us

Established September, 1995

Open Door Fellowship (ODF) is a local body of Christian believers in Kouts, Indiana. Many initial members, including the first elders and pastor, came from a Mennonite denominational background. Common ideals and visions brought in others from various backgrounds. These visions included worship, small group meetings, and the general love and reverence for Jesus. All were committed to learn more about the Word of God, and desired to seek all that God, through his Holy Spirit, would have for every one of us. Today, Open Door Fellowship has members of all ages, and from various professional, ethnic, and regional backgrounds.

Our Purpose, Mission and Vision

Our Eternal Purpose

To be holy worshipers of God Almighty, now and forevermore.

Our Earthly Mission

To make more and better disciples of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.

Our Existing Vision

To be people who build life-giving relationships that show the way to maturity in Christ.

We realize it's easy to write down a purpose, mission and vision. It's much more difficult to live it out in all the intricate aspects of daily life. Our hope is that as we mature as followers of Jesus, we learn to apply these truths to more and more aspects of our lives. We want to be embrace these truths in such a way that the Gospel of the Kingdom can be communicated to all those around us!

Statement of Faith

These are the beliefs of Open Door Fellowship. From this we derive our mission, vision and philosophies of ministry.

I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
